WHY I'M FIGHTING FOR SECESSION OF IGBOS FROM NIGERIA -NNAMDI KANU Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, says the demand for the secession of Igbos  and the entire South East from Nigeria is because Nigeria is not functioning well and can never function. The sit at home order by the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, and MASSOB seems to effective in Awka and environs as most busy places looks deserted while there were skeletal services in some motor parks. A tour of some parts of Awka by our correspondent Ngozi Obileri was met with low turn out of human and vehicular movement along the express road, Ziks avenue and Eke Awka axis. At Eke Awka, all shops were under lock and key while some traders were seen in clusters jisting . The Ekwulobia urban mass transit bus ,at UNIZIK temporary site was a ghost of itself as no vehicle or the park officials were seen. The Awka South Regional Director for Information of the Movement for Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Comrade Paul Obiokoye has called on the Middle belt, Lower Niger and  Southern region to be on red alert as it has been reviewed by what he calls the Biafra Satellite, the planned attack on innocent citizens in Anambra state and beyond by some Fulanis. MASSOB, BIM celebrate Biafra Independence in style.

The City of Onitsha and environ on Monday went agog when the member of the Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) and Biafra Independence Movement, (BIM) staged a peaceful procession to mark the Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Biafra. The Pro-Brafra Groups who chanted different solidarity songs were seen carrying Biafra Flag and placards lettered in various words as they marched uniformly from Obosi fly-over axis through Owerri, Oguta and Awka roads and then gathered at the ever busy Upper-iweka area where they were addressed by some their leaders. MASSOB/BIM The Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) have reiterated determination to embark on a peaceful procession to observe the Independence Anniversary  the Republic of Biafra. In a Media Committee Meeting held in Awada, Obosi, Idemili North local government area of Anambra state, the Zonal Leader of the Groups, Chief Arinze Igbani maintained that the Anniversary celebration will commence as scheduled on Monday the 22nd and round off with a football match on Tuesday the 30th of May 2017. Court orders LG election in Anambra before August 15.

The quest for Local Government Autonomy today recorded a boost as an Anambra Court presided over by the Chief Judge of Peter Peter Umeadi orders the Anambra State independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) to conduct election for only candidates already nominated for the election before the process was stopped before August 15, 2017. In a landmark judgment yesterday, in Court 1 of Anambra State High Court, Hon Justice Umeadi, while delivering judgment in suit No A/182/2016 brought by All Progressives Congress (APC) & 21 others vs Anambra State independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) & 28 others, held that the appointment and reappointment of Caretaker Committees in the 21 LGs of Anambra State is illegal.
