Awka the Anambra state Capital stood still on the night of the Easter Day as the Southeastern Pop Artists of 1970s were recognised by Governor Willie Obiano.
Governor Obiano on highlighting the significance of the show, said that the music concert was aimed at appreciating musicians who made the south-east proud some 40years ago, including the ex-players of Rangers International Football Club in the old Anambra States.
The Governor called on Anambra citizens to support APGA in the forth coming elections in the state and announced cash reward of 1million naira each for the Artists.
The Concert which rode down memory lane attracted Pop Arts such as Terry Dan and Marshall-U of the Founders-15, Sweet Breeze, the Funkees, Jeorge black now King Jeorge, Jerry Boyfriend, Semi-Colon Ajinkwa, Wrinkar Experience, the Winks among many others.
Speaking to Delight News on the occasion, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Creative Media, Movie and Entertainment Industry, Mr. Bob Manuel Udokwu likened the gesture by the state government to the national anthem stanza that reads "the Labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain", advising upcoming Artists to toll the line of the Celebrants in leaving indelible foot print in the sands of time.
