Then as we know, the State was 90% if not 100, in the shape, businesses were thriving, civil service was revamped, roads were networked, the education sector was reinvented and so many other things were put aright; no doubt the expiration of the Obi-led Administration was seen as the end of Era in the entire south-eastern Nigeria.
However this year presents to us an ample opportunity to anchor back what we believe we lost some four years back in the hands of some sort of political hijackers, as another business intellectual and Icon, Development oriented, a loyal servant, Chief Donatus Okonkwo who without doubt possesses the humble qualities we missed in Mr. Obi, has just unveiled his interest by throwing his hat in the ring for the November 18 gubernatorial race in Anambra state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Chief Okonkwo a true son of Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State is the C.E.O of Tetrazzini Nigeria, a food Outlet located in Victorial Island in Lagos State. This Food Maker can also be described as a job Creator as he currently houses over 1500 Staff members in his payroll, this i presume should be the reason he, while briefing the Press in his country home, Ojoto, lambasted Governor Willie Obiano for enlisting the Payment of workers salaries as part of his achievements so far.
"Why won't you pay your workers salaries, infact workers are meant to be payed so its not a News when one pays his or her workers. Obiano should stop bragging for paying workers salary because it is an obligation and not a favour, its their right."
I joined the race to clean up his mess because he has really dealt with Ndi-Anambra..he stated.
This Business Mugul while accessing the administration of the Governor of the state, stated that Governor Obiano has mismanaged fund saved for the state by the immediate past government. He disclosed that Governor Obi acquired Bonds(Shares) in about five states including Imo, Lagos and others, but regretted the fact the present government can not give a proper account of them.
Chief Okonkwo who accused Obiano of insincerity to his Subjects, resounded his readiness to serve his people with integrety.
"People are looking for leaders they can trust, leaders they can believe in....I believe I'm one of them. We are going to play politics of strength and integrity"
"I have always applauded this government for its tireless act in repositioning the security of the state but if u ask me to access and score them generally, I will tell that this government has performed woefully"
On infrastructure development, the Guber Aspirant declined his approval for the flyovers at Awka saying that it endangers the life of the citizenry.
"You can not call that in Awka a flyover but a Crossover in a remote floody village".
He commended the media presence in the state for presenting Anambra in good light stating the team media practitioners in the state is yet to be beaten.
Chief Don. who decries the ugly attitude of people to words media personnel in spite the fact that the sector has so far projected the country to the frontbench, said that Nigeria would had remained in dark age without media presence.
Describing Anambra Youth as extra-ordinary, the governorship hopeful proposed that youths will form the nucleus of his government should he becomes the next governor of the state.
" Youths are not meant to be employed by government, they need to be involved in governance. Am saying that once am able to be chosen by my Party, APC, and get elected as the governor, we are not going to employ the youths but we will engage them to come and run the government.
