PRESS STATEMENT

YORUBA LIBERATION COMMAND (YOLICOM) DECLARATION

CG-IPOB aligns with the position of Yoruba Liberation Command (YOLICOM) on the inalienable rights of self determination for all the Indigenous People in Nigeria.CG-IPOB is happy that YOLICOM has come to terms that a separate Nation-Oduduwa Republic is the best option for Yoruba People still living in Nigeria.

Recall that  Yoruba Liberation Command addressed a world press conference at International Press Centre,Ogba,Lagos on Thursday July 27,2017  , insisting that  it is too late to restructure Nigeria  .They made a simple demand: YORUBA SELF DETERMINATION NOW-OUR FATHERLAND ,OUR BLOOD, A VOTE FOR REPUBLIC NOW.

The above declaration is in line with the Customary Government of IPOB position since 2012 when the legal battle between Biafra and Nigeria in suit no FHC/OW/CS/192/2013 kick-started .In the case,CG-IPOB  has caged Nigeria Government legally in her demand for self determination for the Indigenous People of Biafra.In a related note,CG-IPOB has written all the powerful Nations making the same demand for a sovereign Biafra Nation.In a recent diplomatic letter written to one of the security council members,The CG-IPOB made it clear that  the indigenous people in Nigeria should not be held together against their wishes as slaves but should be allowed to exercise their inalienable rights for self determination.Part of the letter reads-  'That Biafrans have maintained their identity as a people and continued to struggle for independence for 50 years since after the war despite the persecutions meted out to them as clear evidence of the will of the people for self-determination. We are a viable nation and strongly believe that we shall gain independence from Nigeria. We have remained as a people practising community-based customary governance under our Council of Elders. We therefore request for the recognition of the Customary Government of IPOB ,Biafra De Facto Government to enable us satisfy the requirements of international law for sovereignty. We request for bilateral relations with the International Communities. We are an enterprising people in science, arts, commerce and industry. In fact, with all the natural resources in Biafraland, our land may be described as a land flowing with milk and honey. We strongly request for the assistance of Nations in our quest for independence. We hereby open the gates of our native lands and resources to the foreign Countries so that Biafra will join in love as friendly nations in the international community' .The letter concluded.

CG-IPOB has created a soft landing for the Nigeria State for a peaceful dissolution of a forced marriage that could not stand the test of time.We,therefore invite YOLICOM for a possible alliance to pursue our areas of common interest.

We have always remained lawful in all our operations and wish to state that Nigeria Government has accorded all our officers and followers with due respect in line with international conventions.
