APGA PRIMARIES: Governor Obiano nominated as Flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the November 18th Business.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has emerged the Flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), for the November the 18th Gubernatorial Election in the State.

In the Party’s Primary Election held yesterday at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, the Chief Electoral Officer for APGA Governorship Primary Election, Alhaji Abdulahi Shinkafi declared Governor Obiano Winner, having attracted total number 1,070 votes out of the 1,092 votes cast.

''By the Power bestowed on me as the chief Retuning Officer for APGA Governorship Primary Election, I Alhaji Abdulahi Shinkafi, hereby declare His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano as duely elected/nominated as the Candidate of the Party for November the 18th Governorship Election in Anambra state''.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Governor Obiano who expressed profound gratitude over the peaceful conduct of the exercise, said the Party against all odds, has been able to work in one accord for a common goal hence his pledge to remain devoted in bringing prosperity to the party in particular and Anambra state in general.

“Umunnem I stand before you today with great sense of humility and responsibility to accept yet again this challenge to be the Flag bearer of our great party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the forthcoming Anambra Gubernatorial Election. Today marks another historic day in the development of the Party and the state.  With one voice our party has chosen continuity over uncertain future, our party chosen to keep Willie working”.

The Governor on returning his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke as his running mate, saluted the party faithful for having confidence in him; this is even as he reinstated his commitment towards quality service delivery in transforming the state to a first choice investment destination.

“I will do what I know how to do best and that is to work willingly for our great state, I came in with a vision and a mission and will simply scale up what I have done to ensure we launch Anambra state to modernity; Global standard will be enthroned covering jobs, security, road network. Waterways and other forms of modern and efficient transportation, Health care, education etc. we shall make them, men and women with businesses capital and vision to come and invest here thereby making us a part of the global community”.

The APGA Primary Governorship Election which was honored by about 1,092 Party delegates across the 326 wards in the 21 local government areas of the state, was supervised by INEC Officials from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, led by the Deputy Director Political Party Monitoring, Alhaji Musa Huseni.

In a separate reaction, some of the Members of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Chuka Ezenwune, member representing Idemili South Constituency and his Onitsha South 1counterpart, Mr. Patrick Aniunoh, while reiterating their constituencies’ support for APGA, maintained that the Governor will repeat same feet come November the 18TH, 2017.
Ezenwune: The people of Idemili south will this time around vote massively for the Governor. During my own election, they voted massively for APGA and I don’t think there is something that will make them to change from that huge course they have chosen.

Aniunoh: By the Grace of God we are going to work harder to bring him back, because he has done well, in terms of security he has provided, house and infrastructure development, he has done and he has done a whole lot of things here so he deserves to be returned and then complete what he started.
