O bu onye si n’igbo enwehi mmadu?
What do we really mean when we say one is a Philanthropist?
Are we actually cognizant of the fact that charity they say begins at home?
How better can we describe a generous individual?
Chief Barrister Charles Odunukwe,
Vice President General, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide
These outlined questions form the basis of the following article that tends to abreast you, the public, about a less perceived strong smell of a genius who has crossed and dotted his Ts and Is respectively, in events of human development and economic empowerment as well as industrialization.
One can sure attest to the fact that one of the
factors that propagate a person with goodwill is Benevolence. Benevolence in
terms of human relation, charitable kindness, altruistic gifts etc; no wonder the
saying that it does not matter how long one lives on earth rather what matters
is the achievement he or she had institutionalized before going the way of all
flesh and mortals.
In this context, one person that keeps striking my
thoughts is the man whose name will continue to ring a resounding bell in ears
across the Nation, Nigeria. This is an outstanding gentleman who records
positive utterances in virtually all areas of human ramifications as he counts
it as passion to always contribute great quota in development and well being of
the people.
He had sponsored several projects across the
Southeast ranging from electrification of towns and communities, road
constructions, youth empowerment among others.
Hails from Ibenabor clan of Oraukwu Community in Idemili North local government area of Anambra state, Chief Barrister Charles Odunukwe is presently the Vice President General of Ohaneze Ndi-igbo world wide; a designation that crowns his initial position as the President of Aka Ikenga, the think tank arm of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo.
The story of Electrification project in Oraukwu will
remain incomplete if the name, Chief Barrister Charles Odunukwe is not brought
to limelight. In 1989, Chief Odunukwe changed the topic and tempo of discussion
of the project as he financially motivated the then Oraukwu Electrification
Committee with the whooping Sum of fifty thousand naira (#50, 000, one can
attest to the weight of that sum in the year in quote) just to kick start the
fund raising activities, whose committee he chaired.
This young and vibrant entrepreneur can best be
described as an embodiment of human services as he has invested and still
investing in human capital development with well over hundreds of youths in his pay roll.
His generosity in things of God is believed to have
lured him into Pilgrimage sponsorship on which he played a lead role to the
sponsoring of tens of participants to last year’s edition of the journey to the
Holy land, Jerusalem.
Chief
Odunukwe, the Oke mmiri n’ebu ogwe of Oraukwu, an Apostle licensed by
Pope Benedict vxi, is also the Chief
Executive Officer of Colonades
Hotels, Ikoyi, Lagos (this according to him was as a result of his vision to
establish a serene and captivating environment which one can hardly find in
most cities across Nigeria), he is the Founder and CEO of Chardon Foundation in Anambra state and owns
the ever popular Joven Capel Brand Rose Wines, to mention just very few of his
Multimillion naira businesses scattering aground.
JOVEN
CAPEL ROSE WINE
Joven Capel, the wine with mouth watering taste, can
be found in all supermarkets, wine shops and occasions across the country.
Sure, one can enjoy the delicious aromas of the brand made from the finest
grapes and can be used with all kinds of dishes.
The Wine features the following
1 10% = Alcohol content
·
750ml = Capacity
·
Model Name = Wine
· Type
= Wine
Number of Pieces = 12
Number of Pieces = 12
Chardon as he is tenderly called is a good friend of
the Media. In Electronic media organizations across southeast of Nigeria, the
commercial jingle of the product, Joven Capel has occupied the air waves in most
Radio and Television Stations, in that it has almost taken over mouths and lips
of citizens. Anyone in the media business would not be in doubt of millions of
legal tender that must have been invested by Chief Odunukwe just to keep his business
on the front bench; this of course is one of the characteristics of a good
businessman who knows his onus.
CHARDON
FOUNDATION
This middle aged individual while fielding questions
from journalists in Lagos, stated that based on his love for humanity and pity
for the less privileged, he had deemed it fit to establish a foundation (Chardon
Foundation) where about Ten thousand (10,000), down trodden would be housed,
trained and rehabilitated.
On August 2017, all roads will lead to Ibenabor, Oraukwu
in Idemili North Council Area, for the commissioning of the multimillion naira
facilities erected by this fellow, Chief Odunukwe.
No doubt, by his several giant strides in providing
hope to the hopeless, Chief Charles Odunukwe, the Oke Mmiri n’ebu Ogwe of
Oraukwu ancient Kingdom, has paid and still paying his dues thereby ensuring he
meets up with the biblical injunctions that state the following.
-Do
not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
-And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then? He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. Luke 3:10-11
-For anger gives a foothold to the devil. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead,
use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. Ephesians 4:27-28
-Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor. Proverbs 22:9
-The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17
-Give, and it will be given to you. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your lap, because you’ll be evaluated by the same standard with which you evaluate others. Luke 6:38
-Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. Psalm 41:1-3
By the above, it is needless for one to wonder,
argue or inquire to know the source of Chief Odunukwe’s bountiful blessing for
it is boldly written in the stars that God never forsake a cheerful giver. Oke
mmiri n’ebu ogwe of Oraukwe is widely known as a generous individual and as
such had been abundantly clothed with glory by the Almighty.
