The Oil Blocks Ownership dominated by Northerners......Senator Ita Enang

[5/23, 16:34]  Trouble in the Senate as Senator Ita Enang Reveal that Northerners own 80% of oil blocks Supporters of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) pushed their case further yesterday at the Senate, with startling facts on the sector. Senator Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom North East) described the opposition to the 10 per cent host community fund by mostly northern senators as “misplaced”. Enang, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, said that those opposed to the fund should know that over 83 per cent of oil blocks are owned by northerners. But he did not give the number of oil blocks Nigeria has. BIAFRA: Nnamdi Kanu opens up on why he fights for Biafran Secession from Nigeria.

The sit at home order by the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, and MASSOB seems to effective in Awka and environs as most busy places looks deserted while there were skeletal services in some motor parks. A tour of some parts of Awka by our correspondent Ngozi Obileri was met with low turn out of human and vehicular movement along the express road, Ziks avenue and Eke Awka axis. At Eke Awka, all shops were under lock and key while some traders were seen in clusters jisting . The Ekwulobia urban mass transit bus ,at UNIZIK temporary site was a ghost of itself as no vehicle or the park officials were seen. The City of Onitsha and environ on Monday went agog when the member of the Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) and Biafra Independence Movement, (BIM) staged a peaceful procession to mark the Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Biafra. The Pro-Brafra Groups who chanted different solidarity songs were seen carrying Biafra Flag and placards lettered in various words as they marched uniformly from Obosi fly-over axis through Owerri, Oguta and Awka roads and then gathered at the ever busy Upper-iweka area where they were addressed by some their leaders.
