On Friday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said a total of 79 candidates will be contesting the 2019 presidential election. Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, also announced that particulars of the candidates have been pasted. A close look at the documents pasted at the federal capital territory (FCT) office of the commission, however, showed there are 59 candidates whose documents have so far been published. Our attention has been drawn to news making the rounds with regards to Securites and Exchange Commission and its purported to take over Capital Oil PLC. While this news is true, we have however noticed with dismay that most media outlets have used either our logo, pictures of our depot or the picture of our Managing Director in support of their story. In view of this blunder which is a product of lazy journalism, we wish to make the it clear for the unsuspecting listening and reading public that Capital Oil PLC and Capital Oil and Gas Ind. Ltd. are different entities. First off, the Capital Oil in question is absolutely different from Capital Oil and Gas which belongs to Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah. 'Osun Decides' Decleared Inconclusive by INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed September 27th for Osun State governorship rerun.  INEC claims that irregularities which marred the election at some polling units in Ife North, Ife South and Orolu local government areas, had caused the action. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, had polled 254,698 votes to defeat that of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, who polled 254,698 votes. The Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof Joseph Fowape on announcing the result, enlisted cases of card reader malfunctioning, ballot box snatching, among others, as some of the ugly incidents that occurred which according to him led to the cancellation of about 3,498 votes recorded in the affected polling units. Mrs Obiano Warns Fraudsters Using Her Name To Con People, Promising Them APGA Primaries Tickets, To Desist.

19 SEPT. 2018   The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, and founder of the NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) has cautioned members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and other individuals who have been going around promising aspirants of APGA tickets in her name, in the forthcoming party primaries to desist from such. Mrs Obiano said that she has neither mandated anybody to enter into such discussions or negotiations with APGA aspirants, warning that those using her name to make such promises, if caught will be handed over to the security agencies.
