Youths of Anambra origin have been encouraged to access sustainable entrepreneurial paths in the society in order to scale through the huddle of recession facing the Country, Nigeria in recent times.
The State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano handed down the charge to the youths, in Awka, as he declared open the second edition of Skill Acquisition Training being organized by the State Ministry of Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development in Awka the Anambra state capital.
Governor Obiano represented by the state Head of Service, Mr. Harry Udu, a Legal Practitioner, appealed to the participants to ensure they make the best out of the opportunity provided them with by the state government saying that resources are available to help them excel after the exercise.
"I appeal to you youths to ensure you work hard to represent the seeds fallen on the fertile land like the biblical sower, so as to benefit positively from the exercise; as you can see resources are on ground to help facilitate your business plans for the good of your future"

Earlier in a speech, the Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development, Mrs. Uju Nwogu stated that the Empowerment Program is aimed at inculcating in the youths contemporary skills to combat the prevailing unemployment situation in the Country.
Mrs Nwogu listed various areas of concentration for the exercise to include Shoe Making, Confectionery and Decorations, Phone Repair and Solar Power, Hair Making and Make-up, Entrepreneurship among many others, this is even as she challenged the resource persons to impact great knowledge in the trainees.
"This Training is aimed at inculcating in the youths self confidence, equip them with contemporary skills, make them to self reliant, take them off the streets and awaken them to the reality that entrepreneurship is a potential career path in the face of dwindling economy and massive unemployment"

The Training which is holding at Federal Youth Development Center, Mbgakwu in Awka North local government area, is slated to last two weeks with over two hundred qualified youths drawn from the Twenty-one local government areas and other youth based organizations across the state, participating.
Other dignitaries who graced the event were the Managing Director of Anambra state Small Business Agency, Chief Clement Chukwuka, Coordinator, Southeast Entrepreneurship Development, Mr. Osita Aniemeka, State Coordinator, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Mrs. Chito Onuzulike among others.
