RELIGION: Christian Faithful reply Mbaka's group as war of words deepens between Ebube Muonso and Mbaka.

I am taking pains to put forward this statement as my heart bleeds at the level of mischief some people would go to put the Roman Catholic Church to scorn. First of all, I am a professed Catholic and would rather not speak ill of an ordained man of God like Rev. Fr. Mbaka, but as an astute follower of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke, and a proven beneficiary of Ebube Muonso'as immense spiritual exploits, I feel I owe it a duty to my conscience to the Church, to the very innocent Ebube Muonso and to the Holy Spirit to refute with all sense of dignity the callous, malicious and orchestra defamation that have continued to emanate from those who are bent on running themselves into self destruct. As a Catholic Christian with strong foundation of faith, I was taught never to defame or speak evil of a priest of God and I take it without doubt that Mr. Sam Ukam and his fellow travelers who claim to be followers of Fr Mbaka are rather agents of the devil who are bent over on un

CAN proscribes Sukkuk issuance, says it is unconstitutional.

PRESS STATEMENT SUKKUK ISSUANCE UNCONSTITUTIONAL: IT IS SELLING NIGERIA THROUGH THE BACK DOOR - CAN Once again, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is compelled to raise a petition and protest against the unrelenting plan of the Federal Government of Nigeria to introduce Islamic financing into a secular state in violation of Section 10 of the Constitution. According to this section in the Constitution, the Nigerian State is Secular and Government is expected to be neutral on issues involving religion. By promoting a sectional religious financial policy, the Government is violating both the spirit and the letter of Section 10 of the Constitution. The Christian Association of Nigeria has been protesting against this aberration since the Osun State Government, under Governor Rafiu Aregbesola embarked on this violation of the Constitution. Rather than stand in the defense of the Constitution, it is disappointing to note that the Federal Government, is pursuing what is ou

Why Obiano should be changed for Ezeemo - Campaign DG

...the incumbent only spends on merriments By O'star Eze In the following discourse, Dr Chira Obiora, the director general of Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo's campaign organisation analyses, using topical issues, why the incumbent needs to be changed come November 18, 2017 and why Godwin Ezeemo should be his replacement. Why Obiano should be changed: Obiano has failed on his campaign promises. He was voted in because of his mantra that he continue and complete all of what Peter Obi, his predecessor, has started. But he never did. For instance, the bridge between Nteje and Umunya is still the way Peter Obi left it and is even worse now. Another road between Awkuzu and Umunya is yet to be complete though started by Obi. Many road are left uncompleted. The flyover peter obi started, which the incumbent managed to complete, he could not deliver it to specification, but has now increased the problems of road users. It was intended to move traffic off the street but with th

National Broadcasting Commission moves to censor Phone-in Programs

The National Broadcasting Commission NBC, will from the 1st of October this year, issue a fine of N50,000 to any broadcast station that airs hate speech expressed by callers during any phone-in program on their station. The new policy was communicated in a statement sent to broadcast houses after a meeting at the NBC zonal office in Lagos on the 10th of August. The Zonal director of NBC, Matthew Okoduwa, said the commission was worried by all the hate speeches that are being broadcast on many stations.  Okoduwa mandated that broadcast stations to "use screeners to censor calls before they go live on programs" and that only five call-in shows per day would be allowed in all broadcast stations. He also announced that the cost of phone calls will now be borne by the station and not individuals calling in. Okoduwa said broadcast stations must be responsible enough to control the kind of comments Nigerians are allowed to make on their live television and radio broadcasts.
