The Presidential Hopeful of the National Democratic Liberty Party, NDLP in the 2019 elections, Chief Barrister Robinson Akpua has bared his mind on the September 22 Governorship election in Osun state nigeria. Describing it as erroneous, the Presidential Aspirant said that INEC ought to have declared the result, as was done in Kogi and other states considering the fact that people came out en mass to vote for their choice candidate. ''though there was some areas where some INEC officials were caught tearing the ballot papers because the result didn't favor their candidate, it was very bad to witness such in this democratic regime, I was flabbergasted when I saw the pictorial evidence'' ''I enjoin the INEC Chairman to write his name

'Osun Decides' Decleared Inconclusive by INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed September 27th for Osun State governorship rerun.  INEC claims that irregularities which marred the election at some polling units in Ife North, Ife South and Orolu local government areas, had caused the action. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, had polled 254,698 votes to defeat that of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, who polled 254,698 votes. The Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof Joseph Fowape on announcing the result, enlisted cases of card reader malfunctioning, ballot box snatching, among others, as some of the ugly incidents that occurred which according to him led to the cancellation of about 3,498 votes recorded in the affected polling units. Quoting INEC’s Standing Rules at the commission’s headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital, Prof Joseph Fowape, said since the margin between the two leading candi

RELIGION: Christian Faithful reply Mbaka's group as war of words deepens between Ebube Muonso and Mbaka.

I am taking pains to put forward this statement as my heart bleeds at the level of mischief some people would go to put the Roman Catholic Church to scorn. First of all, I am a professed Catholic and would rather not speak ill of an ordained man of God like Rev. Fr. Mbaka, but as an astute follower of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke, and a proven beneficiary of Ebube Muonso'as immense spiritual exploits, I feel I owe it a duty to my conscience to the Church, to the very innocent Ebube Muonso and to the Holy Spirit to refute with all sense of dignity the callous, malicious and orchestra defamation that have continued to emanate from those who are bent on running themselves into self destruct. As a Catholic Christian with strong foundation of faith, I was taught never to defame or speak evil of a priest of God and I take it without doubt that Mr. Sam Ukam and his fellow travelers who claim to be followers of Fr Mbaka are rather agents of the devil who are bent over on un

CAN proscribes Sukkuk issuance, says it is unconstitutional.

PRESS STATEMENT SUKKUK ISSUANCE UNCONSTITUTIONAL: IT IS SELLING NIGERIA THROUGH THE BACK DOOR - CAN Once again, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is compelled to raise a petition and protest against the unrelenting plan of the Federal Government of Nigeria to introduce Islamic financing into a secular state in violation of Section 10 of the Constitution. According to this section in the Constitution, the Nigerian State is Secular and Government is expected to be neutral on issues involving religion. By promoting a sectional religious financial policy, the Government is violating both the spirit and the letter of Section 10 of the Constitution. The Christian Association of Nigeria has been protesting against this aberration since the Osun State Government, under Governor Rafiu Aregbesola embarked on this violation of the Constitution. Rather than stand in the defense of the Constitution, it is disappointing to note that the Federal Government, is pursuing what is ou

Why Obiano should be changed for Ezeemo - Campaign DG

...the incumbent only spends on merriments By O'star Eze In the following discourse, Dr Chira Obiora, the director general of Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo's campaign organisation analyses, using topical issues, why the incumbent needs to be changed come November 18, 2017 and why Godwin Ezeemo should be his replacement. Why Obiano should be changed: Obiano has failed on his campaign promises. He was voted in because of his mantra that he continue and complete all of what Peter Obi, his predecessor, has started. But he never did. For instance, the bridge between Nteje and Umunya is still the way Peter Obi left it and is even worse now. Another road between Awkuzu and Umunya is yet to be complete though started by Obi. Many road are left uncompleted. The flyover peter obi started, which the incumbent managed to complete, he could not deliver it to specification, but has now increased the problems of road users. It was intended to move traffic off the street but with th
