Two Dead, Six Injured In Multiple Accidents In Anambra.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Monday, confirmed that two persons died in a multiple accident involving five vehicles on Mike Ajegbo Rd, Obosi, Anambra state. The Sector Commander, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, told newsmen in Awka that the accident occurred about 9a.m. According to him, the driver of the truck marked MAR210XA, allegedly lost control due to speeding and rammed into four other vehicles.  “The truck rammed into a Toyota Camry with registration number BWR807JV, a Tricycle without enlistment number, a Mitsubishi bus marked ZLL530XA belonging to Southeast Mass Transit and a Mercedes Benz 200 saloon car with registration number ALL977ASB. “The crash involved a total of 21 persons – 12 male adults and nine female adults. Two male adults lost their lives while six others sustained serious injuries. “The corpses of the victims have been deposited at Righteous Undertaker Funeral Home Service Mortuary and the injured victims were rushed to Chukwura Hospital, Obosi by sympathiser

Three Police Men Drown While Chasing Weed Smokers In Oyo.

The Oyo State Police Command has lost three constables who drowned in a bridge washed away by flood on Balogun Street in Oyo town. The policemen, attached from Oyo Atiba Police Division, trailed some hoodlums to the area when the thugs started running towards the bridge. According to an eyewitness, one of the hoodlums reportedly jumped into the water and the policemen jumped after him during which the officers drowned. The witness, who gave his name as Okunola Abbas said, “On Sunday, July 12, some policemen from Oyo Atiba division were passing through Balogun Street in Oyo town and saw some hoodlums smoking weed in the area. “The area is notorious for hooliganism. The policemen parked their van and four of them started running after the hoodlums. So, being their base and knowing the area well, the hoodlums jumped into the flooded bridge. The policemen chased one of the hoodlums to the bridge and three of them jumped after him. “They were not lucky as they were swallowed up by the mud.

Ex-NIMASA Director, Agaba bags 7year Jail Term For 1.5bn Naira Fraud.

Ezekiel Bala Agaba, a former executive director of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)), has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment for N1.5 billion money laundering. Agaba, who was in charge of maritime, safety and shipping, was said to have looted the money from the agency. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned him in 2015 alongside Patrick Akpolobokem, former director general of NIMASA,  and two others on a 22-count charge for allegedly diverting N2.6 billion from NIMASA’s coffers between December 2013 and May 2015. According to the EFCC, two firms were used to siphon the funds approved by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for the implementation of international ship and port security code at NIMASA. The commission said the ISPS Code is to enable NIMASA to carry out security checks on vessels entering into the country. Hushpuppi Gate: FBI Kidnapped Hushpuppi From Dubai, Says Lawyer.

Gal Pissetzky, a lawyer to Hushpuppi, says the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) kidnapped his client in the name of extradition. Hushpuppi was  arrested in Dubai   on June 10 alongside 11 associates in a special operation dubbed ‘Fox Hunt 2’. He was later  extradited  to the US for trial on money laundering. According to Reports , Pissetzky claimed that the US government and the FBI had acted as though they had kidnapped Hushpuppi, citing a lack of legal framework evidencing the said extradition. “He’s a social media influencer with millions of followers, with millions of people that respect and loved him, and he loved them, and that’s what he did. Paul Onuachu, Super Eagles forward, has tested tested positive for coronavirus. A Belgian online news media, confirms the 26-year old COVID-19 status on Wednesday. The RKC Gent striker’s result came back positive after the club side tested their players ahead of an exhibition game slated for Thursday.
